The Florida District AI Readiness Kit, ESE edition.

By July 1, 2027, every district school board and charter governing board adopts an AI amendment to its internet safety policy. The rule’s own principle: “AI is never used as a decision maker absent human review,” with ESE referrals, evaluations and communications on its list. This kit is what an ESE office needs to be ready, written to the rule, not to a product.

What’s in the kit

  1. A model ESE AI-use procedure

Mapped clause by clause to Rule 6A-1.0957(3)(e) as noticed Sept. 18, 2026: who decides on a referral, an evaluation, an IEP, discipline and a letter home, what “human review” means, and what an ESE office does under each of the eighteen clauses. A district edits it; nothing in it is a claim about a product.

  2. Twenty questions to ask any IEP AI vendor

Data, decisions, disclosure, diligence. Five questions each, with IEPeasyhub’s own answers beside them, including the ones that are “not yet”. Hand the empty column to every vendor.

  3. A parent AI-disclosure letter

What AI was used for in the child’s IEP, what a person decided, and how to see the record; in English, Spanish and Haitian Creole side by side, with the blanks a case manager fills. The translations are checked by a person before use, and the letter says so.

The three pieces come as one PDF, ready to download as soon as you send this. We email you once more, with the re-issue when the rule’s effective date posts, and nothing else. No student data is asked for or wanted.

Timed for FSBA/FADSS, Dec. 1–4, 2026, and the July 1, 2027 deadline. Written against Rule 6A-1.0957 as noticed; re-issued when the rule’s effective date posts. Checked Oct. 9, 2026.

About us: IEPeasyhub is a staff tool, not a student-facing instructional tool. Our own answers to the twenty questions are in the kit, with their date.
